Back pain can be exhausting—not just physically, but emotionally. You’ve tried stretching. Maybe some massage. Physical therapy. Painkillers. Rest. Maybe even injections.

And yet… the pain keeps coming back.

If that sounds like you, you’re not alone—and more importantly, you’re not out of options. At We Care Wellness Centerin Omaha, we specialize in helping people who feel like they’ve tried everything, and nothing worked… until now.

Why “Standard” Back Pain Treatments Often Fall Short

Many conventional treatments only focus on one thing: managing the symptom—the pain. They don’t identify or address the root cause, so even if you feel a little better, the problem is still there… waiting to flare up again.

That’s why we take a different approach.

The Most Overlooked Cause of Chronic Back Pain

In our clinic, we’ve found that most stubborn back pain is related to spinal compression—especially involving the discs.

Common issues include:

Herniated or bulging discs

Nerve pressure (sciatica)

Degenerative disc disease

Disc dehydration or poor nutrient flow

Poor spinal alignment or movement mechanics

These are things that won’t fully resolve with stretching, medications, or massage alone. That’s where spinal decompression therapy comes in.

What Is Spinal Decompression Therapy?

Spinal decompression is a gentle, computer-guided therapy that:

Slowly stretches the spine

Creates negative pressure inside the disc

Helps reposition herniated material

Restores circulation of oxygen, nutrients, and hydration

Relieves pressure on pinched nerves

It’s non-invasive, drug-free, and can be life-changing for people with long-standing back pain.

What Makes Our Approach Different

At We Care Wellness Center, we never do cookie-cutter treatment. Your care starts with:

A detailed consultation

Three advanced computerized scans to pinpoint the source of your pain

A custom care plan using decompression, plus supportive therapies like:

Chiropractic care

Cold laser therapy

Acupuncture

Shockwave therapy (for stubborn cases)

We treat the whole spine, not just the pain.

Real Results from Real People

We’ve helped thousands of people who were told “you’ll just have to live with it,” or who were considering surgery as their only option.

Many patients start to feel relief within a few sessions of decompression therapy—and over 90% report lasting improvements by the end of their treatment plan.

You Haven’t Tried Everything—Until You’ve Tried This

If your back pain keeps coming back and nothing has worked so far, don’t give up. The answer may not be more of the same—it may be time for something different.

👉 Click here to schedule your consultation or call 402-333-4848

Let’s figure out what’s really going on—and finally fix it.

It’s mid-June, and summer vacation season is in full swing. Whether you’re road-tripping across Nebraska, flying to the beach, or heading to the lake for a long weekend, this is the time of year to relax, recharge—and make memories.

But nothing puts a damper on a vacation faster than back pain flaring up while you’re supposed to be having fun.

At We Care Wellness Center in Omaha, I’ve seen it happen far too often: someone feels fine until they hit the road or airport, and suddenly they’re stiff, sore, or in full-on pain for the rest of their trip.

The good news? A little planning can go a long way. And if you’re already hurting, there’s help for that too.

Why Travel Triggers Back Pain

Whether you’re traveling by car or plane, there are a few common reasons back pain shows up on vacation:

Sitting for long stretches in cramped positions puts pressure on your spine and discs

Lifting heavy luggage (usually with bad form) strains the back muscles

Unfamiliar beds or hotel pillows don’t support your spine like they should

Disrupted routines often mean less stretching, more stress, and poor posture

If your back is already tight or misaligned, travel can push it past its limit.

5 Tips to Prevent Back Pain While Traveling

1. Pack Light—Or Pack Smart

Use a suitcase with wheels, and avoid carrying heavy bags on one side of your body. When lifting luggage, bend at the knees—not your waist.

2. Support Your Spine in Transit

Whether you’re in a car or plane, use a small pillow or rolled-up sweatshirt behind your lower back. It helps maintain healthy spinal curves and prevents slouching.

3. Move Every Hour

Set a reminder to stand up, stretch, or walk around every 60 minutes. Motion keeps blood flowing and reduces stiffness.

4. Stretch After You Arrive

Take five minutes to stretch your hamstrings, hip flexors, and lower back. This simple step can undo hours of tension from travel.

5. Stick to Your Routine (As Best You Can)

Even on vacation, try to stay hydrated, sleep well, and move a little each day. Your spine thrives on consistency.

Already in Pain? Don’t Wait Until You’re Home

If your back starts acting up while you’re away, don’t ignore it. Pain is your body’s way of saying something needs attention. A small issue today can become a big problem tomorrow.

And if you’re already home and your pain hasn’t gone away—or has gotten worse since traveling—it’s time to get it checked.

At We Care Wellness Center, we use advanced diagnostics to find out exactly what’s going on and offer non-invasive treatments like>

Spinal decompression

Chiropractic adjustments

Acupuncture

Cold laser therapy

Our goal is to help you feel better fast—and get back to living your life without limitations.

Hi, I’m Dr. Jack Belitz from We Care Wellness Center in Omaha. If you’re reading this, you or someone you care about is probably dealing with back pain—and I just want to say, I understand how frustrating and exhausting that can be.

Over the years, I’ve helped thousands of people who felt stuck, worried, or even hopeless about their pain. And what I’ve learned is this: your body is always trying to tell you something. If you’re in pain, it means something needs attention. That’s why I put together this post—to help you understand some key signs that your back pain may need a deeper look, and how we can work together to find real relief.

back pain Omaha

spinal decompression doctor

sciatica treatment

chronic back pain relief

herniated disc specialist Omaha

non-surgical back pain care

natural back pain treatment

1. Your Pain Radiates Down Your Leg or Arm

If your back pain is moving down into your leg or arm, that’s often a sign that a disc is pressing on a nerve. This is more than muscle soreness—it’s your body saying, “Hey, something’s not right.”

I’ve seen spinal decompression therapy do incredible things for this kind of pain. It gently takes pressure off the disc and the nerve so your body can start to heal naturally.

2. You’ve Had the Pain for More Than 3 Months

I talk to people every week who have been toughing it out for months—sometimes even years. But here’s the truth: chronic pain is never “normal.” And it rarely goes away on its own.

When someone comes into my office with pain that’s been sticking around, we dig deep. I use three computerized exams to figure out why the pain is there in the first place. No guesswork. Just clear answers.

3. You Wake Up In Pain

Waking up stiff or hurting—especially in the lower back—is another sign that something deeper is going on. This often means the discs in your spine aren’t getting the hydration and nutrients they need overnight.

That’s one of the reasons spinal decompression is so powerful: it helps draw water, oxygen, and nutrients back into those discs. The goal is simple—wake up feeling better, not worse.

4. You’ve Tried Everything (and Nothing’s Worked)

If you’ve been to other doctors, tried meds, stretches, maybe even injections—and you’re still in pain—please don’t give up. You’re not broken. You just haven’t had a care plan that fits you.

At my office, we use a combination of spinal decompression, chiropractic, acupuncture, cold laser, and even shockwave therapy for the more stubborn cases. It’s not one-size-fits-all. It’s a plan built around you.

5. Back Pain Is Stealing Your Joy

Pain affects everything—your mood, your energy, your family time, your freedom. And if it’s been taking away the things you love… it’s time for something different.

I’ve seen people come in barely able to walk, who are now out golfing again, playing with their kids or grandkids, or just waking up excited about life again. That’s what drives me—helping you get back to being you.

What to Do Next

If any of these signs sound familiar, I’d love to sit down with you. We’ll go over your history, run three precise diagnostic tests, and start building a plan that actually gets to the root of the problem.

I’ve been helping people with back pain for over 25 years. If you’re ready to stop guessing and start healing, I’m here—and I’m in your corner.

Back pain is one of the most common—and frustrating—conditions people face today. Whether it’s from long hours at a desk, old injuries, or simply wear and tear over time, back pain can take a serious toll on your quality of life.

But here’s the good news: lasting relief is possible—and it doesn’t have to involve surgery or addictive medications.

At We Care Wellness Center in Omaha, we specialize in helping people just like you finally get out of pain and get back to doing the things they love. Whether your pain is new or something you’ve dealt with for years, we have solutions that work—starting with a breakthrough approach called spinal decompression therapy.

What Causes Back Pain?

Back pain can come from a number of sources, including:

Herniated or bulging discs

Sciatica or nerve compression

Spinal stenosis

Degenerative disc disease

Poor posture or muscle imbalances

Old injuries that never fully healed

The key to real healing? Identifying what’s causing your pain—not just masking the symptoms.

Why Most Back Pain Treatments Fail

Many people turn to medications, massage, injections, or even surgery for relief.

While these might offer short-term help, they often fail to correct the root cause—which is why pain often returns.

We hear this every day from new patients who’ve “tried everything”… until they come to us.

What Is Spinal Decompression Therapy?

Spinal decompression therapy is a gentle, non-invasive technique designed to relieve pressure from the spine, especially the discs and nerves. It’s ideal for conditions like:

Herniated or bulging discs

Sciatica

Degenerative disc disease

Spinal stenosis

How it works:

You lie on a specialized decompression table

Gentle, controlled stretching creates negative pressure in your spine

This vacuum effect draws oxygen, water, and nutrients back into the disc

It helps reduce inflammation and encourages long-term healing

Our Unique Approach: More Than Just One Treatment

At We Care Wellness Center, we don’t believe in cookie-cutter care. That’s why we combine spinal decompression with other powerful, non-invasive therapies to give you the best chance at full recovery:

Chiropractic adjustments

Acupuncture

Cold laser therapy

Shockwave therapy

Each care plan is customized to your body, your condition, and your goals.

Real Results. Real People.

Over the years, we’ve helped thousands of patients regain control of their lives with our holistic, multi-modal approach to healing.

In fact, over 90% of our patients report long-term relief—and many had tried other treatments without success.

They’ve gotten back to doing the things they love:

✅ Playing with their kids

✅ Getting a good night’s sleep

✅ Enjoying hobbies and family time again

Is Spinal Decompression Right for You?

If you’re struggling with:

Chronic back pain

Sciatica

A herniated disc

Spinal stenosis

Pain that hasn’t gone away with other treatments…

You owe it to yourself to explore spinal decompression and a full evaluation at We Care Wellness Center.

Take the First Step Today

Imagine waking up pain-free, full of energy, and doing what you love again. That’s what we strive for with every patient.

🧠 Step 1: We’ll take time to understand your history

🧪 Step 2: We perform three computerized tests to pinpoint the cause

🛠 Step 3: We create a personalized plan just for you

Finding Relief from Depression and Anxiety: A Holistic Approach That Works

As the crisp autumn air settles in and the days grow shorter, many people find that their feelings of depression and anxiety intensify. October, with its changing leaves and spooky celebrations, can be a time of heightened emotions for some. If you are struggling with persistent anxiety or depression, you are not alone. Many people experience increased symptoms this time of year, but there are effective, natural solutions to help you reclaim your life.

At We Care Wellness Center, we specialize in holistic treatments for depression and anxiety, offering safe and natural alternatives to prescription medications. Whether you’re dealing with chronic feelings of sadness, excessive worry, or a sense of hopelessness, our approach is designed to provide long-term relief without the harsh side effects of conventional treatments like SSRIs.

Why Do Depression and Anxiety Worsen in the Fall?

Many people notice their mental health fluctuates with the change of seasons, particularly in the fall. As days become shorter and darker, this lack of sunlight can affect your body’s production of serotonin, a chemical that regulates mood. Additionally, the shift in routine and upcoming holiday stress can trigger or worsen feelings of anxiety and depression.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unable to enjoy life like you used to, it’s important to seek support. The good news is that there are natural ways to restore balance and help you feel better.

Holistic Treatment for Depression and Anxiety

At We Care Wellness Center, we take a holistic approach to mental health, focusing on personalized care that treats the root cause of your symptoms. Our treatments include:

Network Spinal Analysis: A gentle chiropractic method that reduces stress and enhances the nervous system’s function, allowing you to better manage emotional and physical tension.

Classical Homeopathy: A natural remedy system designed to stimulate your body’s self-healing processes, improving mood, energy, and overall well-being.

Personalized Consulting: We take the time to understand your unique challenges and tailor treatments to your specific needs. Together, we’ll create a comprehensive plan that addresses both your mental and physical health.

Our goal is to help you achieve long-lasting relief from anxiety and depression so you can live life to its fullest—without the unwanted side effects of traditional medications.

Why Choose Natural Alternatives?

Many people turn to antidepressants or anti-anxiety medications for relief, but these drugs come with a range of side effects, such as weight gain, sexual dysfunction, digestive issues, and a sense of emotional numbness. In fact, research shows that only 3 out of 10 people experience full relief from their symptoms with these medications.

Our holistic approach is different. We focus on healing the whole person, not just masking symptoms, and we empower our patients to take charge of their mental health naturally. By addressing both the emotional and physical aspects of depression and anxiety, we offer a path to real and lasting change.

Get Help Now – Don’t Wait!

October is a great time to seek help, especially as the winter months approach. By addressing your mental health now, you can feel more balanced and prepared to take on the challenges of the holiday season and beyond.

If you are struggling with anxiety or depression, We Care Wellness Center is here to help. With over 30 years of experience in holistic healing, we are committed to helping you feel your best, naturally.

Schedule Your Consultation Today!

Don’t let anxiety or depression hold you back from enjoying life. Contact us today to schedule your consultation and discover how our natural treatments can help you regain control of your mental health.

Stress is a silent killer. It can cause life-altering changes in your body and sometimes you don’t even realize you have stress. How can this be and what can you do?

Some of the common symptoms from being overstressed include:

rapid heart rate. our body was made for back in the caveman days and if there was stress, it was often life-threatening. A wild animal close by is a great example. You need to be able to fight it off or run away. In order to accomplish that, your heartbeat rate will often start to rise so you will have the ability to accomplish that task. In 21st century United States, most stress is not life-threatening, but our bodies have not adapted and so your heart rate will often rise under stress.

Low energy levels especially at the end of the day. Even though most stress today is not life-threatening, your body will still react to it. One of the ways it reacts is to send blood to the muscles of your back legs and arms. The reason is to prepare you for a fight, but the result is to put those muscles into a slight spasm. it takes a lot of energy to keep those muscles ready to go all day long so if you are feeling like you don’t have energy like you should at the end of the day it is probably not because you are aging, but because all those muscles are using up all the energy that you would have available to you.

There are 3 types of stress that you can potentially face every day of your life. Physical stress is when you fall off a bike, do a workout, or get in a car accident. Not all physical stress is completely bad. For instance, if you lift some weights, you are tearing muscles, but then in the next day or so, your body repairs those tears and actually builds them back bigger.

Chemical stress is the stress your body suffers when you breathe in fumes from a toxic chemical, come in contact with a toxin like a pesticide, and even when you decide to eat fast food rather than make dinner at home using organic foods, or smoke a cigarette.

Finally, there is Mental/Emotional stress. This is the most likely one to fly under your radar and affect you without you even realizing it is there.

If you would like to find out if stress is causing problems in your life, there is an easy way to do this. We have computerized technology that is cutting edge and can show you the effects of the stress you live with on your body. This testing is easy to do and can let us know if the stress you have built up is something that you can work on yourself or if you need some help.

Give us a call at 402-333-4848 and we can get you scheduled for your scan. The normal charge for this is $150 which is a bargain but if you mention this blog post you can receive the scan for only $47. Call us right now at 402-333-3838 or text us at 531-600-9420.

Allergies are about the immune system. Your body is thinking that something like pollen which is, in reality, no big deal is a big threat. For your protection, the immune system goes into hyper mode and tries to flush out the pollen using a runny nose, coughing, and sneezing. These symptoms can become so severe that they ruin your life.

Many people reach for medication that is designed to stop the symptoms, but not solve the problem. The side effects of these medications can rob you of your energy and many other things.

The chiropractic approach to this issue is to open up your nervous system. By doing this, your body starts to strengthen the immune system. Often times this will reset your system and it will stop seeing the pollen as a threat thus eliminating the symptoms.

We have had amazing results for patients with allergies, but we go even further. Homeopathic remedies have been proven all over the world to do an amazing job of working with the body in dealing with allergies and we have been using them successfully for over 20 years. Probiotics are also an important ally in the fight against allergies and using the proper ones is very important.

Call 402-333-4848 and we can do some computer scans on you to find out if you are a good candidate for success in this office. We look forward to helping you today!

This is the month of traumatic brain injury awareness month and because thee is so much confusion about this problem, I am writing this newsletter to shed some light.

A Traumatic brain injury can be caused a number of ways; it could result from a physical blow to the head, while playing a sport (not just football) or banging your head on something such as a low tree branch. Damage can also occur if there is penetration through the skull such as a bullet. But it’s important to note that the brain can sustain damage without that “blow to the head” such as shaken baby syndrome and whiplash; these injuries jar the brain and cause it to move within the skull.

Brain injury can have different results.

Concussions: Caused by shaking sudden movement or years ago we thought someone had to be rendered unconscious to qualify for a concussion, but now we know there can be significant damage done without loss of consciousness. Signs of a concussion are confusion, disorientation, temporary (or permanent) loss of motor skills, dilated eyes and slurred speech.

Contusions: Is bruising or lesion on the brain from impact. These will show up on imaging

Penetration: When the skull is actually broken.

Each of these has different severity levels. Mild concussion often goes unnoticed – which can be dangerous. Likely with less severe injury there is no evidence on imaging studies. Research is also showing us 2 important things; one after each concussion it takes less force to cause damage two, constant mild damage can lead to changes in the brain functions and structure. A Moderate concussion is when the loss of consciousness lasts up to a few hours and confusion can last up to a few weeks. Complications from this level of injury can last for months or even be permanent. Severe brain injuries are life threatening and there is no doubt that immediate action needs to be taken.

I personally believe that the biggest problem with this level of injury is if the person gets re-injured before the first concussion is fully healed. This can be a problem if the first injury isn’t diagnosed and precautions are taken.

Sometimes I think precautions are taken to an extreme especially in high school sports. People are so willing to diagnose a concussion today maybe for fear of lawsuits in the future but it’s a good thing to be safe rather than sorry.

Hope this clears some things up some of the confusion about this subject which is what the awareness month is all about.

Many of us this time of year look down at our body and decide we want to “get fit” for summer which is coming up sooner than we want to admit. Government recommendations suggest about 150 minutes of moderate activity a week or 75 minutes of vigorous activity a week. But like recommendations for vitamins, this number is pretty low. It is estimated that 65-79% of the people are not doing enough activity especially strengthening activity to be really healthy and obesity levels are climbing higher and higher each hear which will add to the chronic long-term diseases in the future.

Most of us know we should be doing more so we decide to join a gym in the winter or pick up a new sport in the spring, but how do we keep the exercise up when the motivation slips like it is so likely to do.

Here is the first part of a 2 part newsletter on how to get and stay fit by experts from across the world.

1) You need the WHY.

Just wanting to get fit is not enough motivation to keep it up for more than a short term period. Many people can be motivated to start out of guilt or shame or to look good, but those motivations fade very quickly. Goals like reducing stress or feeling good or increasing your energy or making new friends are more likely to get you to prioritize exercise in your life which is what you need to stay on track. Find a goal that is truly compelling and valuable to you and your daily life.

2) Get off to a slow start

Many people who decide to “get fit” just jump into everything all at wonce. They change the diet, join a gym stop drinking and smoking and within a few weeks get frustrated or exhausted and just stop it all. You have to realize that if you have been out of shape for a while, it’s going to take some time. The first month should include a few days of rest and only doing vigorous exercise a couple of times a week. Add in some waking swimming or slow jogs so you have some recovery time and allow your body to get the benefit from your work, plus you won’t loose your motivation as quickly.

3) You don’t have to “Love it!”

Forcing yourself to do exercise you don’t enjoy makes the long term outlook more unfavorable. When deciding what exercise you want to do, consider things you liked when you were a kid. Roller skating, bike riding, tennis, basketball are all activity that can give you the activity you need in a way you can enjoy them. But when it really comes down to it, you don’t have to really enjoy the exercise itself. If you feel the physical response of your body getting stronger or the great feeling of mastering a sport, your brain will love the activity.

4) Find a purpose.

Anytime you can exercise while getting other goals accomplished will help you stay motivated. When I work out in the morning I’m watching YouTube videos that teach me things and motivate me so I get more done during the day than I would otherwise. This is a great motivator to keep going and stay on course. I also invested in an Apple Watch. This has a program that tracks my calories and exercise minutes. I have to “close my rings” each day. This is not always easy and almost impossible if I don’t set aside at least 30 minutes of vigorous exercise a day but closing those rings each day has become a goal that gives me pleasure to accomplish each day. My new goal is a full year of closing all the rings each day.

5) Make it a habit

A mentor of mine once taught me “if there is something you don’t like to do but it must be done, make it a habit. For example if your exercise of choice is running, each day you have to decide to do it, you have to decide when your going to do it and then where. That’s a lot of decisions that go into that activity and any one of those points could derail your exercise for the day and after a few times of not doing it, you stop all together. However if you make it a habit that you get up 30 minutes earlier so you can run before work, or decide you will run over the lunch or after work, then you don’t have to have all those questions, you know you are doing the run at a certain time and you just do it.

You can apply this technique to lots of things in life and it is very powerful to do so.

Yours in Health,

I really do get it. I was a single parent. I know the struggles of getting your kids to all the practices, dance, martial arts classes and everything else that kids are into these days. Sometimes all you feel you have time for is a meal with at least a little bit of canned food, because, lets face it, there are only so many hours in the day and only one of you to get everything done.

However, here are a few items that you will want to avoid at all cost. You may think you are making a healthy choice, but not if these are on your shopping list.

1) Fruit Cocktail.

I know. You’re making this choice because all the experts have said that fruit is important. Unfortunately, this form of fruit is covered (literally) with high fructose corn syrup. There are enough for 21 grams of sugar in each serving. If you want easy fruit, buy some berries. They have the best ration of sugar to good stuff ratio of all the fruits

2) Bush’s Honey Baked Beans.

Beans are supposed to be good for you. They have lots of good nutrients like protein, B vitamins, fiber and many other vitamins and minerals. But that goodness can not out do all the bad things that also come with them in a can. Huge amounts of sugar and a ton of calories make this otherwise healthy food one to avoid.

3) Progresso’s Loaded Potato Soup.

While many people think of potatoes good for you because we often classify them as a vegetable, they are not at all healthy by themselves. The set insulin levels through the roof in a majority of people. Making soup out of them and putting them in a can just quadruples the problem. There are 20 grams of fat including 5 grams of saturated fat should send shivers down your spine (It does mine) Also the salt content is outrageous at 1600 milligrams. Because potatoes aren’t healthy to begin with, while a homemade version would be better, it’s still not healthy at all. Just say no!

4) Pillsbury Grandes.

There are so many breads that come unregulated, that when you see a package of dough that is in the refrigerated section, you might think this is healthier – well it’s not. Just one of theses biscuits contains 170 calories, 4 grams of sugar, 6 grams of fat and 470 milligrams of sodium. And who can eat just one? Leave them at the store and have an egg for breakfast. Hardboiled ones are easy to make ahead and super easy to eat on the go.

5) Hunt’s Manwich Sloppy Joe Sauce

If you have paid attention, you know that meat is a great way to live a low cab diet, so to add some flavor it is very understandable why this might make it into your shopping cart, but leave it on the shelf. One serving of this sauce has 13 grams of sugar and because a serving is defined as ¼ cup, most people have more than one serving at a meal.

6) Nabisco Easy Cheese.

This is one I probably don’t need to put on the list because the average person realizes no good can come from a product that delivers cheese at room temperature through a spray can, but just in case, here it is. Besides all the processing and extra non cheese stuff, there are 6 grams of fat, 430 mg of sodium and 100 calories in just 2 tablespoons of this “product’. Don’t even get your kids started.

7) Hormel Chili with beans.

While canned chili might be something easy to fix when you need a quick protein meal, this is definitely one to avoid. One can has over 500 calories and 2,000 milligrams of sodium along with 10 grams of sugar. That’s a lot of sugar for a meal that is supposed to be healthy.

8) Chef Boyardee Beef Ravioli.

I was lucky. I didn’t like this stuff when I was a kid and boy I glad now that I am looking at what this can has in it. 1,260 milligrams of sodium, 12 grams of fat and believe it or not 9 grams of sugar. Keep this away from your kids!

I’m all for convenience but you have to do your research if you want a healthy family. Sometime’s a few extra minutes in the kitchen is worth the time because as you have seen above, food can be down right unhealthy.
