The Government Finally Got It Right…
About Cholesterol – That Is
The top nutrition advisory panel finally decided to drop the caution about eating foods high in cholesterol that they put into place back in 1961 – over 50 years ago.
What does this mean to you? Hopefully nothing because it is my sincerest hope that the readers of this newsletter do not rely on any government publication to help them decide what is good to eat and what isn’t because that would mean I’m not doing my job very well.
Believe it or not – and I’m sure you can, “The United States is the last country in the world to set a specific limit on dietary cholesterol” according to David Klurfeld a nutrition scientist at the Department of Agriculture. Every other country has come to the conclusion that dietary cholesterol has little to no effect of the amount of bad cholesterol we have in our body. This is because the body itself produces much more cholesterol (both good and bad) than we could take in by our diet.
Scientists are now calling for more research on nutrition to discover where all the obesity is coming from if it isn’t from eating foods with cholesterol.
This is just my opinion, but if we are the last country in the world to figure out this information, why do we want these same people doing more research??
If you want to stop obesity, look at the problems associated with insulin resistance. If you don’t know what that is, and you are trying to loose weight that is gathering around your mid section, I can help you out with that
