It’s getting to be winter; in fact I think we skipped Autumn all together this year!  Often with the drab dreary days that are right in front of us that we find depression on the rise, but it doesn’t have to be that way.
One of the little known but easily available things you can take to help with this is Magnesium. That’s right. The mineral that you have heard of many times in your life, may be just what you need to boost your mood.
Magnesium has been demonstrated to have a positive effective on people battling depression.  2 major ways t this is accomplished;  1, by regulating the calcium going in and out of nerve cells and 2, magnesium can play a role in getting an under active thyroid gland to work better.  (Under active thyroid is a known cause of depression.)
For women Magnesium is also critical for anyone struggling with PMS symptoms.  34% of women who took 250 mg of Magnesium had symptoms of irritability, low mood, cramps and migraines decreased.
Magnesium is found in green vegetables, nuts and seeds but even if your diet includes these important things, stock piles of Magnesium can be depleted by stress, alcohol, sugar and sodas. *Also some herbicides that is used on crops can destroy the magnesium you take in while it is sitting in your stomach.
Women can take up to 800 gm a day and not worry about side effects.
Another source of magnesium is taking an Epson salt bath.  You work hard, take a bath and absorb some magnesium!
You will find this mineral used very often in hospitals for problems of constipation and heart arrhythmia. (Unfortunately, that great advice isn’t given a doctor’s offices.)
Magnesium is – plain and simple – an amazing mineral that you should always keep at your home.  Be careful because like so many other minerals like calcium, magnesium comes in many forms and quality isn’t always there. We carry a complete line-up of supplements from trusted manufacturer.
